Their lives here on earth

Jeff and Shannon were born two years apart, and miles away from each other. Jeff was my youngest Son, Shannon was my Sisters youngest daughter. Jeff was born in Louisiana , Shannon in Hawaii. They met for the first time when Jeff was only three days old, the Henriques family flew in from Hawaii, their first time to Louisiana, of course Jeff and Shannon were to young to remember this.

Life went on in our two different worlds, we kept in touch through phones, letters and lots of pictures, no computers back in those days. Both Jeff and Shannon had normal childhoods, school, sports, friends and family. We all got a kick out of our different accents...and the slang was even funnier.

In 1993 my Sister and her children, Christina, Joey and Shannon left Hawaii and moved to Louisiana. Jeff and Shannon being the babies of the family were both spoiled rotten by us all. They became close, Shannon was real close with all three of my sons. They went to the same school in French Settlement.

While Shannon was still in high school, she worked at McDonald's she worked her way up to Manager, with dreams of becoming a chef. After she was there a couple of years, she got Jeff his first job. He worked crazy hours and I can remember a many nights (late) going to pick him up and usually having to drop off someone who worked late to, but I loved doing it. I was so proud of Jeff for working so hard at his first job.
